Antaboga Suspects Nowhere to be Found

VIVAnews - The Indonesian police headquarters are hunting down two directors and one commissioner and stock holder of PT Antaboga Deltasekuritas. They are Hendro Wiyanto, Anton Tantular, and Hartawan Aluwi.

But they are rumored to have fled to Singapore, "We heard a rumor that Anton and Hartawan have fled to Singapore," said VIVAnews's source who is close to Antaboga customers, Jakarta, Friday, Dec. 5.

The police seemed to also have heard this information and tried to stop the suspects. But they were too late. "We were late in receiving the information. We only got the information on Wednesday night. When we looked for them at their houses they were gone," said Second Director for Special Economy of the Crime and Investigation Department, Brigadier Police General Edmon Ilyas, Jakarta Friday, Dec. 5

The Immigration Directorate General have already banned the three individuals from leaving the country since Thursday, December 4th 2008.

“We've filed a letter to the Immigration, to ban the two directors and one of their stock holders from traveling abroad. Yesterday morning, the letter was issued,” Edmon said.

Even so, according to Ilyas, the Police will still pursue the three, by coordinating with several agencies such as the Capital Market and Financial Entity Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK) and the Immigration Directorate of the Justice and Human Rights Department.

Of the three being pursued, Anton is the brother of Robert Tantular who is now in prison for the Bank Century case. Hartawan Aluwi is Robert's brother-in-law. Robert's sister is also reported to have fled to Singapore. She was in charge of the treasury division at Bank Century.

According to head of Capital Market Supervisory Agency, Fuad Rahmany, the police would have a cooperation agreement with the police of other countries which would allow them to pursue the Antaboga suspects. "Criminal suspects fleeing [the country] often happens,” he said.
