192 Burmese Cast Ashore in Aceh

VIVAnews - As many as 192 Burmese were found cast ashore at Sabang waters, Aceh, because their ship was tossed away by waves.

Today, they are being treated at various hospitals. 126 victims are at Sabang Hospital and 66 others are at Navy Hospital.

An anonymous Public Relations officer of Sabang Hospital said that the patients are still weak because they had not had meals for two days. "They look exhausted," the officer said on Wednesday, Jan 7.

Meanwhile, the deserted 192 citizens of Burma, or Myanmar, were said to have set sail from their country heading for Malaysia. In fact, they were once drifted ashore in Thailand for two days.

"As they were about to proceed to Malaysia, they were tossed here and there by sea waves and wind. They were then saved by fishermen," the officer said.
