France Offers Loans for Energy Sector

VIVAnews - Agence Française de Développement (AFD) is offering loans for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The loans will be granted to State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and private companies.

According to AFD Country Director Joel Daligault, two AFD officials will visit Indonesia on 12-16 January 2008 to support the program.

"They will hold a series of discussions with Minister of Energy, Purnomo Yusgiantoro, to gain further understanding of Indonesia's energy sector," said Daligault as quoted from the Department of Energy's website, Sunday, Jan 11.

AFD started its activities in Indonesia since 2008. It focuses on the management of public goods, especially concerning with climate change. AFD has also donated US$200 million to Indonesia as a part of aid for climate change program.
