VIVAnews - The House of Representatives (DPR) announced statements concerning the Israeli aggression to Palestine on Tuesday, Jan 13.
The statements were conveyed by DPR Chairman Agung Laksono. The first statement: DPR condemns the Israeli aggression on Palestine that have killed thousands of people, including innocent women and children.
Second, DPR urges Israel to stop the attacks. The aggressor must withdraw their troops and cancel blockade in Gaza Strip. Both parties (Israel and Hamas) must cease fire and allow access for humanitarian aid, especially for food and medicine distribution.
Third, the UN Security Council is urged to issue a firmer resolution. In addition, the United Nations must issue a sanction against parties violating the resolution. The United Nations is also urged to hold an Emergency General Assembly meeting and form Peace Troops in the conflict region.
Fourth, the United States, the European Union, Middle East countries, UN members and interparliamentary partners such as Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), ASEAN Parliamentary Assembly (APA) and Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Countries are encouraged to exercise their roles to stop the Israeli aggression.
Fifth, Palestine's struggle for an independent and sovereign country is supported. The Palestinian nation is requested to unite and implement a Palestinian national purpose.
Six, the United Nations is urged to distribute humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees spread across several Middle Eastern countries.
Seven, the Indonesian government is prompted to actively participate in the UN Peace Troops which will be formed to help handle the Israel-Palestine conflict.
The government is then requested to promote conflict settlement in both regions based on the independence and full territorial integration of Palestine, which suits the resolution of the UN Security Council.
